“Death of a Tsotsi” is a short story by Alan Paton that brings us the oftentimes clash of worldviews that can take place within the same society, and where no matter how hard one tries, we cannot escape, nor always properly make others – not from our own lifeworld – understand where we come from and what is expected of us.
In this tragic story, a young man tries his utmost to escape the tsotsis from his pervious life, but ultimately must reside himself to his fate, for not being able to become anyone other, but who he was meant to once be.
